A New Garden to Awaits You
If you’ve followed me over the years at Lagniappe, first of all — thank you.
That little corner of the internet has been a place for stories, reflections, and the occasional ramble about soil, slugs, and life. It’s meant a lot to me to know you were there.
But gardens grow, right?
So I’ve created a new online home: The UpBeet Gardener…
The UpBeet Gardener is my new organic gardening blog where everything now lives in one place.

Oh, and here’s the dancing beet logo… It’s a little cartoon drawn up for me back in 1994. I figured it was time to let it dance again.
How do you like it?

It’s Still Me — Just More Room to Grow
Yup, the new site is still me. Still got dirt under the fingernails. Still life lessons tucked between the kale and compost.
But now everything is gathered in one convenient place:
- Composting
- Seed-starting
- Organic gardening
- Weekly garden columns
- Recipes
- Alaska life
- …And the deeper how-to-live reflections many of you have told me you enjoy

As always, you’ll find clear, practical GG (gardening guidance) based on 40+ years of hands-in-the-dirt experience.
If Lagniappe felt like a single raised bed, The UpBeet Gardener is the whole garden — with fresh ideas and regular updates.
Come Take a Look
I’d love for you to visit and wander around. Tap here to fly on over.
If it feels like home, bookmark it.
And if you’d like to stay in touch, the best way is to join my UpBeet Gardener newsletter. When I publish something new — or share a class, a story, or a garden insight — it comes straight to your inbox.
No algorithms. No fake words.
Just a friendly note from me to you.
Hope to see you there.
Blessings,
~ Marion
